Living out of state from family meant her party was very intimate, (just the three of us), but I really wanted to make it special. We had a birthday “sail”obration for my sweet girls first party. Unfortunately on her actual birthday it poured rain, but we appropriately went to the Rain-Forest Cafe on Galveston Island, (highly recommend the sparkler lava cake!) We took the safari ride after our meal, it was a huge hit.
The following day we took a sunset sail over the ocean. We decorated the boat and brought the lopsided homemade cake I spent the whole day baking from scratch. I stumbled upon this awesome boat rental website that allows you to get a private boat, (with a captain if needed), for a fraction of the commercial companies cost. Emery adores the water, and thoroughly enjoyed the ride. It was a beautiful way to celebrate her first year! We couldn’t put the camera down, pics below (click to view bigger)!
